What is Okuizome?
The origin and origin of this ceremony is said to date back to the Heian period (794-1185).
During the Heian period, there was an event called “Momoka,” in which babies were given rice cakes to eat, and this is said to be the beginning of the “Okuizome” ceremony.
In the old days, hygiene and nutrition were not good, and it was very difficult for babies to grow up safely, so ceremonies and celebrations were held to pray for their growth at various milestones.
